World Championship Bronze For Reka

With a series of stunning performances in the World 035 Championships in Charlottesville Reka Burmeister - now Reka Gay, brings home a World Bronze Medal.

Masters events in all Sports have become incredibly popular, none more so than with Squash where we have seen a number of Cambridge based players step up their playing standard and go on to achieve National recognition in the Home Internationals.

However, at world level the “Club Player” comes face to face with former world champions and world number 1’s who have continued to play or coach to the highest possible standard.

So, for any club player to have put in the amount of work over several years to reach world standard is remarkable- but when it’s one of our own it becomes a very special achievement indeed.

However, for those of us who have seen her putting in double sessions in the gym at 6am and then on court in the evening will not be surprised - just absolutely delighted!!
