This spectacular long-range goal from player of the match Ailie Rennie was the third in a 3-0 win vs Oxford in the Women's Blues Varsity match. It secured the win in spectacular style and the home crowd in The Cledara Abbey Stadium went crazy
3. CUIHC - Last minute goal to secure the first ever National Championship
With speed and style, Julia Maybury skated round the back of the net, aiming for a wrap-around shot which she had been attempting all tournament. The seconds ticked by, and the goalie shifted over, blocking her first attempt. But with amazing hand-eye coordination, Julia sneaked the rebound into the Glasgow net past the keeper, and the final whistle blew. Cheers were through the roof. The entire squad burst onto the ice and headed as a unit towards the Cambridge keeper, where they piled up and celebrated being the 1st CUIHC team EVER to win a national championship!
