UCAPP Athlete Profile: Rob MacLennan - Fencing

Name: Rob MacLennan

College: St. John's

Studying: MPhil Economics Research

 

What would you like to achieve this sporting year?

"I'm hoping to medal at BUCS individuals, as well as reach the top 15 of the British Senior Rankings"

Rob's sporting achievements include being selected for the U20 GB squad at the age of 16, being the U17 British Number 1 and representing GB at international tournaments including the European and World Championships, and placing 7th at the BUCS Individual Fencing Championships quarterfinals. As well as fencing, Rob also competes at the highest level of mixed lacrosse in the UK as a member of the Home Nations Lions squad and the Cambridge Blues team, and was awarded ‘Most Valuable Player’ at the 2022 Varsity. This sporting year, Rob aims to compete at the highest level nationally, break into the top 15 ranked fencers in the country, and represent GB at Senior level.
