Is there parking for members?

Do you offer free taster sessions?
We don't offer free tasters, but you can try us out via Pay as You Train; pay for a single-day pass before committing to a full membership. Find out about PAYT.
Can I bring a guest with me?
Yes. If you're a member using a free court booking (Sports Hall, squash or fives), your guest can join for a £2 guest fee, payable on arrival at reception.
If you've paid for your court, including all padel bookings, or as a non-member, no guest fee applies, as the cost of the court is already covered.
Are under 18's allowed in the gym?
No, our gym is only accessible to those aged 18 and over.
Do I need a gym induction? Is it mandatory?
No, it's not mandatory but you can book your free Gym Welcome at reception.
How do I freeze or cancel my membership?
Fill out our freeze form or cancellation form at least one month before your next direct debit. Manage your membership here.
What are your membership prices and options?
Does the Sports Centre have a café?
Yes, our Blue & Brew Café is opposite reception.
Can I book on behalf of someone else?
No, bookings must be made by, and used by, the person attending. The named booker must be present for the session, whether it's a court, activity or class. You'll also need to sign in at reception on arrival for your activity.
If I book a padel court, do I have to be present?
Yes, the person who made the booking must be present for the session.
Do I need to book to use the gym?
No pre-booking is required to use gym facilities. If you are a Pay As You Train member, you can pay on arrival.
Do you offer personal training?
Absolutely! Whether you're chasing a specific goal or just want an extra push, our personal trainers are here to help you get there. Take a look at our Personal Training page to see what's on offer. For bookings, speak to reception or drop us an email at fitness@sport.cam.ac.uk to get started.
What should I do if I've left something in a centre?
Contact the reception team for lost property.
Do you have a one-week or 10-day pass?
We offer a 10-class pass for fitness classes; alternatively, you can explore our gym facilities on a single-day pass. Find out about Pay As You Train.
Membership
- What is the minimum freeze period?
1 month. Find out more about freezing your membership here.
- How do I freeze or cancel my membership?

- Are there options to pay for membership by direct debit?
Yes, Direct Debit payments must come from a UK bank account. Your first payment includes a pro-rata amount (covering the remaining days of the current period) plus a one-off joining fee. After that, you'll be charged monthly on a rolling basis, billed on the 1st of each month.
- I only have an international bank account; how can I make payment?
Our Recurring Card Payment option is particularly convenient for international students and anyone without a UK bank account.
- Can I bring a friend for free as a member?
No, a £2 guest fee applies for joining you in the Sports Hall, squash and fives courts. Please pay at reception on arrival.
Friends who want to access the rest of our facilities, including the gym, should register as a Pay As You Train member.
For padel bookings, guests don't need to be members or pay a guest fee, but the person who made the booking must be present for the session.
- Do you offer free gym taster sessions?
No, but you can register as a Pay As You Train member and purchase a day pass for gym access. Our team will also be happy to show you around on arrival.
- Do you have a one-week/10-day pass?
No, but you can use our Pay as You Train option to pay for individual sessions as needed, without committing to a longer membership.
- Do family members of staff get a discount?
If you're an active member of University staff and hold a membership with us, your spouse is eligible for a discount. Please contact us to arrange this.

Bookings, events & guests
- If I book a padel court, do I have to be present, or can guests attend without me?
No, the person who made the booking must be present for the session. Please check in on arrival.
How do I book a tennis court?
You'll need to be a member of Cambridge University Lawn Tennis Club (CULTC). Visit the CULTC website to find out how to join.
Book courts and social play sessions via the CamUniSport app.
- Can I bring a guest with me to a sports hall, squash, or fives booking?
Yes, guests who aren't members can join you for a £2 guest fee per person. Pay on arrival at reception.
- Do you provide rackets and balls?
Rackets are free to borrow; balls/shuttlecocks are purchased at reception and are yours to keep)

Fitness Classes
- Do I need to book to attend a class?
Our classes are very popular so we do recommend that you pre-book via the CamUniSport app to avoid disappointment. Members and non-members can pre-book classes up to 7 days in advance.
- Do I need to bring my own equipment with me?
All equipment is provided at our classes, but feel free to bring your own exercise mat with you.
- Where can I view the class timetable?
You can view our class timetable here, or download the CamUniSport app to view the most up-to-date listings and class availability.
- I need to cancel a class, what should I do?
You can cancel via the CamUniSport app up to 2 hours before the class starts, or call reception on 01223 336580.
Visiting Us
- Does the Sports Centre have a café?
Yes, the Blue & Brew café is located opposite reception, serving drinks, snacks, and light meals.
- What happens if I've left something in a centre?
Contact reception, and they'll be able to check lost property for you.
- Are there lockers provided at the sports centre?
Yes, lockers are available on site and operate with your gym card (or CAMCard); no padlock or pound coin required.

Is there free WiFi at the Sports Centre?
Yes, University of Cambridge students and staff can connect to the eduroam network, and all other visitors can use the University's guest WiFi.
