Why strength training matters as you age
Adults typically lose 30% of their muscle mass and maximal strength between ages 40 and 70. Strength training is the most effective way to counter this loss.
Falls are common too: 1 in 3 adults over 65 living at home will have at least one fall a year, and around half of these will fall more than once. Building strength and balance reduces this risk, read more on the NHS website.
What is functional strength training?
We use functional strength and power exercises to maximise training effectiveness. These are exercises done in an unsupported, three-dimensional environment, requiring your brain to coordinate muscles through natural patterns of movement, mainly bodyweight and free weights, rather than machines.
How training improves your golf
- Increase your ball distance by improving club head speed
- Lower your injury risk by building a stronger, more resilient body
- Improve your swing mechanics through better strength, stability, mobility and balance
- Go the full round with improved muscular and cardio endurance
