Job Vacancy - Part Time Receptionist

The University of Cambridge Sports Service is seeking to appoint two part-time Receptionists to work Sundays 7.45am-2.15pm, and Sundays 1.45pm-8.15pm at the University Sports Centre, West Cambridge, with scope to take on more shifts if necessary.

The role holders will be part of a team of Reception staff who provide an efficient and welcoming reception for visitors. They will answer queries, monitor access to the sports and fitness facilities and deal with incoming phone calls, mail, and e-mails.

The role holders will receive and process memberships for the Sports Centre and the Fitness, Strength and Conditioning Centre. They also take court, class and course bookings and ensure the Booking Management System is updated, and appropriate fees collected. The role holders will also respond to enquiries relating to other Sports Service facilities and services available at other sites.

Applicants should have a good general education to GCSE level, including English. Completion of a customer care course, NVQ or equivalent, would be an advantage. They should have good organisation and communication skills, a helpful and positive attitude and the ability to deal tactfully and professionally with all enquiries. Applicants should have some general office or reception experience. Previous work experience in a sports centre environment and the use of booking systems would be an advantage.
