Cambridge Win 101st Varsity Ice Hockey Match

OXFORD 1 - CAMBRIDGE 8

The Light Blues win the 101st Varsity Match at Oxford Ice Rink!

Squad: Matt Neville, Evgeny Goncharov, Ivan Grega, Taylor Kitchen, Scott Partington, Benjamin Proyer, Jaroslav Zapletal, Christoph Kehle, Reed Macey, Jonáš Fiala, Martin Limbäck-Stokin, Philip Holbrook, Lucas Maddalena

Coaches: Rob Stellick, Bill Harris

Having been undefeated during the season, the Light Blues stepped on the ice both confident and focused with the pure will to take back home the King Edwards VII Cup! From the first face-off on, Cambridge dominated the game against an inferior Dark Blues team and throughout the game there was no real doubt about which team will take home the trophy! Player of the game for Cambridge and MVP of the Varsity Match was Benjamin Proyer and team voted player of the match was Lucas Maddalena.

This victory also puts Cambridge on top of Division 1 (South) and qualifies the Light Blues for the National Championship final against Edinburgh Eagles Ice Hockey Club on Sunday 14/04.

Thanks a lot to all the fans for the amazing support and the Oxford Blues for a tough, physical battle.

A final thanks goes to Invenia Labs for their support throughout this successful season.
