Cambridge Rowers Shine at BUCS Regatta

University and College Rowers made finals at the largest student Regatta in Europe this weekend with medals across several events.

It was particularly sucessful for the Women's Boat Club who won three Gold (Women's Pair, Lightwight Women's Pair and Women's Four) and three Silver (Lightweight Women's Eight, Lightweight Women's Four and Women's Single). CUWBC Chief Coach Robert Weber said

“I’m extremely proud of our athletes especially in how they were able to switch gears so quickly and seamlessly on the heels of the Boat Races."

The Men's Boat Club achieved places in the finals for all of the boats they entered. CUBC Chief Coach, Rob Baker said:

“My highlight would be the silver medal in the Intermediate 4+. These athletes were mostly the spares for the Boat Races, so I am very pleased they could get some reward for their efforts."

Meanwhile, there were several entries from College crews in the intermediate eights with Gonville & Caius achieving a very impressive place in the A final of the Men's Intermediate Eights, and Jesus coming third in the B final of the Women's Intermediate Eights.
