Varsity Orienteering
This weekend, the Cambridge University Orienteering team made the journey to the Isle of Wight to take on...
CUOC was founded in 1970 and quickly grew in size. We currently have around 20 active members, although in the past the club has been much larger. Despite our small numbers, CUOC has excelled within the university orienteering scene, once being named British Orienteering University Club of the Year in 2013 and 2017.
CUOC competes at the annual BUCS competition, and our members are also highly successful at other major competitions, including the British Championships, Junior World Championships and the Home Internationals.
Our biannual fundraising race, the Icenian Trophy, which has been held since 1975 was held in February of this academic year, and once again was a great success, with runners from all over the country. Alongside this, CUOC has excellent links with local club, particularly West Anglia Orienteering Club, which are vital to maintain the success of the club. We look forward to many more years of CUOC success in the future.
