Athlete Profile - Ruby Paul

Name: Ruby Paul

Studying: Sports Rehabilitation and Conditioning, University of Northampton

School: Southfield School, Kettering

When and how did you get into sport?

“I have been shooting for nearly 8 years and I have represented GB for 2 years in youth competition. After the 2019 competition season I finished 6th in the European Youth Cup Circuit in Slovenia and Romania (with this being my first year in the older age group- 'Juniors' U21), competed at my first World Youth Championships in Spain and ranked 7th in the senior women’s National Rankings.”

What are your top sporting achievements?

“My highest achievement in my sport was my individual bronze in the Cadet Women (U18) at the 2018 European Youth Championships in Greece. This was in fact my first time representing GB!”

What are your future sporting goals?

“My goals in my sport are to continue to represent GB at international competitions and medal, become the number 1 ranked senior in the country and to represent GB at the 2024 Olympics. With the help from TASS and my coach Nicky Hunt, I believe that I will be able to achieve these goals.

What has the support from TASS meant to you?

“I have been on the TASS programme since 2018 and I have been supported through both the highs and lows in my sport and my A-Levels and now my first year at University. I have already learnt so much since being on the TASS programme and the support I have received has been invaluable to my progress in my sport especially in the 2019 competition season where I had a dip in my performance.”
