Women's football is one of the fastest growing sports in the UK, and Cambridge is no exception. CUWAFC consists of both a first and a second team.
The first team, the Blues, trains three times a week, with one match a week on a Wednesday. In season 2016/2017, the Blues team played in the BUCS Midlands 2B league, which they subsequently won and have now been promoted to the BUCS Midlands 1A. They also compete with the BUCS Cup competitions. They welcome registered university students, and consist of a squad of about 18 players.
The second team, the Eagles, trains twice a week, with one match a week on a Sunday. They play in the Cambridgeshire Women's and Girls County Football league, in the Premiership Division. They welcome university members- staff and students, and consist of about 30 players.
Both teams play the annual Varsity match against Oxford. We encourage players, of any ability, to get in touch and tryout!
