Rugby League

Cambridge University Rugby League Football Club (CURLFC), also known as the Green Lions, has been a prominent presence in the Cambridge sporting landscape since 1980. Rugby league is a fast-paced, high-intensity contact sport, similar to rugby union but played with 13 players per side, with a focus on quick play-the-balls and dynamic attacking play.

A fiercely competitive yet welcoming club, CURLFC fields teams in regular BUCS fixtures, invitationals and, the annual Varsity match, as well as undertaking tours to compete against national and international opposition. On the training side, we play every week throughout Michaelmas and Lent, train 2 to 3 times a week on the pitch, and hit the gym together at least once a week. We're fortunate to have a full-time ex-professional coach in Jonah Cunningham, an excellent team physio, and a dedicated committee with strong links to professional clubs.
