Orienteering Club
Cambridge University Orienteering Club (CUOC) has been running since 1970, making it one of the oldest and most active university orienteering clubs in the UK. Orienteering is navigation racing, with competitors using a map to locate the checkpoints on their course as quickly as possible.
Each week we visit a different area in or around Cambridge for technical orienteering training, run on a drop-in format and usually followed by a pizza social. We also organise a training camp in the UK at the end of Michaelmas term, and travel to competitions around the country.
Orienteering is a relatively small sport, so no previous experience is required or expected at our training sessions. We're a friendly and inclusive club, and are always happy to help new faces learn the ropes.
We are open to post-graduate and undergraduate students. Non-student members are allowed to join subject to committee approval, but may only run for CUOC at orienteering events which are not exclusively for university clubs.
