Gliding Club

Cambridge University Gliding Club offers a truly unique flying experience, using rising air currents to soar through the sky without an engine. There are two main methods of launching, including by winch or being towed behind another aircraft. Once we are up, we can stay airborne for many hours and travel hundreds of kilometres. 

As a member, you will be able to learn to fly from scratch. If you already have flying experience, we offer many opportunities to develop your flying skills through motor gliding, aerobatics, and becoming an instructor yourself! Every year, we run two expeditions to different airfields around the country, as well as an annual Varsity match against Oxford.

Flying membership is available to members of Cambridge University or Anglia Ruskin University who are in full-time education. No prior experience is required.
