Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Cambridge University Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Club is the sport for you if the combination of problem-solving and physical fitness sounds like the dream combo. Everyone from complete beginners to seasoned grapplers is welcome in our fun and friendly community.
A typical session starts with a warm welcome from the committee and club members, followed by a fun warm-up. Most of the session is spent learning and drilling techniques taught by our professional coaches, before we finish with five-minute rounds, where you put the theory into practice. Rounds can be as intense or as mild as you like, so don't be intimidated if you've never grappled before!
We also spice up regular training with cross-sessions with other societies (capoeira, salsa and MMA), interclub competitions including MMA Varsity and the Warwick Quintet, special guests such as Tinie Tempah, and socials ranging from picnics and slacklining on Jesus Green to shrimp parties.
