Aikido Club
Cambridge University Aikido Club is a student-run martial arts club practising Aikido, a Japanese martial art that uses strikes, throws, locks, and pins to control an opponent. Specifically, we practise Shodokan Aikido, also known as Sport or Tomiki Aikido, featuring 'randori' (free-form sparring) and competition.
Alongside student-only sessions at the University Sports Centre, we also train with Shodokan Aikido Cambridge, a community club based in Trumpington, giving members the chance to train and compete more widely.
We provide a safe and inclusive environment for students of every background, from complete beginners to experienced practitioners of any Aikido style. Whether your goal is practical self-defence, earning a black belt, or competing at elite level, there's a place for you here.
