About Us
Founded in 1856, Cambridge University Association Football Club (CUAFC) is the football club of the University of Cambridge and unofficially the oldest football club in the world. The city of Cambridge has a long history of football, with the rules of football being first codified on Parker’s Piece, and we are proud to be part of that history, with our varsity matches being one of the longest running fixtures in the footballing world.
The club runs three men’s teams and three women’s teams, all of which compete in BUCS competitions and in annual varsity matches in Lent Term. We are a very welcoming and inclusive club, and we have a strong community with regular socials. We run trials for our university teams at the start of the academic year, and we encourage players from all backgrounds to attend. Check out our socials for more insight into the club, and to see more details about applying for pre-season.
The club also plays a role in running the Cambridge University Association Football League (CUAFL), which is the biggest college sport league, and offers students of all abilities a chance to represent their college, get active and enjoy the beautiful game.
Look out for us at the Sports Fair and Freshers’ Fair and we hope to see you get involved, whether it be representing the Blues in Varsity, or playing for your College at the weekend
