About Us
Founded in 1855, the Cambridge University Swimming and Water Polo Club (CUSWPC) is one of the oldest university swimming clubs in the UK. It offers competitive swimming and water polo opportunities for students wishing to represent the University.
The swimming section includes a first team (Blues), a second team (Marlins), and a Development Squad. The Blues and Marlins train regularly and compete in BUCS short-course and long-course championships, as well as other galas throughout the year. A key highlight of the season is the Varsity Match against Oxford. Swimmers also participate in the British Universities Swimming League (BUSL) and other national competitions. Open Water Swimming is offered too, including the annual Varsity Henley Classic and the biennial Varsity Channel Swim.
CUSWPC’s water polo section fields two men’s teams and two women’s teams, all of which compete in BUCS leagues and local friendlies. The season culminates in the annual Varsity Matches against Oxford. The women's water polo and swimming first teams currently compete in the BUCS Premier Division.
The Club fosters a strong, inclusive social community, supported by the Tadpoles alumni society, and is overseen by a single committee coordinating both swimming and water polo.
