Sports Club Training - Easter 2019

Booking for for University of Cambridge Sports Club Training - June 2019. All sessions to take place at the Sports Centre.

Welfare Officer Training - for new Welfare Officers

The training, Essential Skills for Supporting Students, is delivered by the Students' Unions' Advice Service and provides attendees with tools to support their role as a Welfare Officer.

As per the Welfare @ Sport guide, each club must have a dedicated, trained Welfare Officer who can ensure the wellbeing of club members, by confidently signposting students to a range of different support services where necessary, and playing a key role in ensuring all club activity is inclusive and appropriate. This is an important role in club committees, and training is provided free of charge. We want to ensure that Officers are equipped as well as possible to deal with any issues that may arise in their club.

If the elected Welfare Officer for your club feels that they already have suitable training to carry out the role, please let us know - sometimes individuals have undertaken separate training, for example Mental Health First Aid, which suitably qualifies them to carry out the role.

Monday 17th June - 1-4PM

Tuesday 18th June - 1-4PM

BUCS Briefing - for new committee members, particularly new Captains

The BUCS Briefing will take a look at key dates over the summer and up to the beginning of the new season, and insight into good practice.

This briefing will only be relevant for those clubs who play in weekly BUCS fixtures (American Football, Badminton, Basketball, Fencing, Football, Hockey, Lacrosse, Netball, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Table Tennis, Tennis, Ultimate, Volleyball, Water Polo). In-depth BUCS training will be delivered for all clubs in early October 2019.
