CRICKET- Groundsman of the Year Award

Monday 4 January 2010

John Moden has won the 2009 Groundsman of the Year Award for pitches at MCC Universities Grounds. Each Year the ECB present awards, in a number of categories, recognising the achievements of Cricket Groundsmen. Every pitch is rated at the end of the match by each of the umpires. The winners of each category are the groundsmen whose pitches have achieved the highest average rating across the course of the season. The Fenner's team of John Moden, Robert Coston and Robert Brown continued to produce high quality wickets throughout the season, despite the unpredictable weather conditions, in order to secure the award. This is the fourth time that Moden has won the Universities Category for his work at Fenner's.
