HARE & HOUNDS - Naomi Taschimowitz wins European Silver

Friday 20 January 2012

Naomi Taschimowitz can look forward to an exciting 2012 having ended the last year on a high. Making her debut in the European under 23 Cross Country Championships, held in Slovenia, she surprised many by taking the silver medal. She had set herself a target of a top ten finish, but her coach always believed that the top five was not unrealistic. And so it turned out as Naomi produced the best result of her career so far.

Speaking to Cambridge Sport, Naomi said; "I suppose I'd say that plans for the year are broadly to really target the track and run a 5000m time that I'm pleased with. I'd really like to run in the Olympic trials, as I imagine it will be a race with a good atmosphere!"

Given that the likes of Paula Radcliffe and Mo Farah have been medallists in this event in the past, before moving successfully on to the track, it is quite possible that we will be hearing more of Naomi Taschimowitz in the future.
