Hockey Ground
The floodlit sand-based synthetic surface at Wilberforce Road is marked and used for hockey only. The facility is home to Cambridge University Hockey Club and hosts a range of University, College and Community Club traning sessions and matches. It is also used by County and Regional Hockey squads and
The PE Department were delighted to welcome the Cambridge City Hockey Club to the site in 2009. The Club now use the Pavilion as their Clubhouse and have some training and match sessions on the hockey pitch. It is hoped that the partnership between the University, University Club and City Club can help improve hockey provision, recruit new players, coaches, volunteers and offficials and drive forward performance in the Cambridge area.
The PE Department are currently fundraising to build a second sand dressed floodlit pitch and to resurface the existing pitch. Planning permission already exists for the scheme. All enquiries regarding the development should be made to the Director.
