Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS)
Launched in April 2004, the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) is designed to help promising young athletes who want to balance their sporting ambitions with a University or college education.
How students/athletes benefit?
An athlete, in obtaining a TASS scholarship, will not receive direct monetary payment. They will utilise their scholarship to access core service provision up to a value of £3500 (e.g. strength and conditioning, physiotherapy, medicine and lifestyle management) and discretionary services (e.g. travel and equipment costs).
In addition to receiving these services, TASS athletes will also benefit from developing their sport in a high performance environment. This means training in a multi-sports environment in association with the regional consortia and the EIS.
If you would like to be considered for the TASS Scheme for the 2009/2010 academic year please contact your National Governing Body to see if you are eligible.
