TASS Athlete - Alex Young
Alex Young (19) is studying Geography at Cambridge University. This is his first year as a TASS supported triathlete.
At school he ran track and cross country, and also played waterpolo. After joining Manchester Triathlon club three years ago he tried a few fun races before moving into junior elite racing.
Last year he came second in the Mazda London junior elite triathlon, and won the British triathlon championships in Hyde Park. This year he has moved up an age group and is now racing Olympic distances.
He trains with Cambridge University Hare and Hounds running club and the Cambridge triathlon club, with the hope of competing well in domestic races this year.
