Josh

Josh completed a BSc (Hons) in Sport Coaching and has also graduated with an MSc in Applied Sport Physiology. From his time of study, Josh has enhanced his understanding of the human body, its functions in sport performance, and how various forms of training can create optimal physical adaptations. His MSc dissertation study was titled “The effects of soccer-specific fatigue during the extra-time period of prolonged simulated soccer match-play on peak isokinetic torque productions of the knee flexors and extensors”, and was awarded a Distinction for it.

Josh has had a number of successful experiences in the field of strength and conditioning, working with both teams and individual athletes to prepare them for performance in their sport, whilst minimising the risk of injury. This work also included tracking the athlete’s progress with comprehensive physiological assessments. Josh has predominantly worked with youth and University athletes, as well as being involved with professional teams. In 2022, he completed his UKSCA ASCC (Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach) qualification.

He has been involved with a number of institutes including the University of Brighton Sport and Exercise Science Consultancy Unit, Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club and Sussex County Cricket.

Current areas of interest include coaching development, plyometrics training, physical preparation and physiological assessments. Overall, Josh's passion lies in helping people achieve their training targets.
