Duty Supervisor (full-time)

SALARY: £29,605 -£33,966

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive team leader to join the University of Cambridge Sports Service. As a Duty Supervisor, you will be part of the team responsible for the day-to-day operations and services provided at the University sports facilities.

A broad range of student, staff and community-club training sessions, competitions and events take place across our sites, in addition to a thriving gym, class and racquet sports membership community at the University Sports Centre.

You will supervise, motivate and support a team of sports, fitness and reception staff to create a welcoming, professional, and safe atmosphere for all of our users.

You will also work closely with the Estates Management staff to manage the health and safety, maintenance and environmental management procedures and processes throughout the facilities.

Your hours of work are based on a shift pattern that includes early mornings, late evenings, weekends and bank holiday shifts.

Applicants should have a proven track record and relevant experience of management within the sports/leisure industry with associated management training/qualifications and/or degree level education. Duty Supervisors are expected to have excellent communication skills and an inclusive approach. They should also be able to deal with a range of customers, handling difficult situations effectively with tact and diplomacy.

Applicants should possess a Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification and a health and safety qualification, or the ability to achieve these.

Bookings and Membership Assistant (full-time/part-time)

SALARY: £23,144-£25,742

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an organised individual with exceptional communication skills to join the University of Cambridge Sports Service. As a Bookings and Membership Assistant, you will be part of the team responsible for handling the enquires and administration of day-to-day, regular block bookings and one-off event bookings enquiries at the University sports facilities.

A broad range of student, staff and community club training sessions, competitions and events take place across our sites, in addition to a thriving gym, class and racquet sports membership community at the University Sports Centre.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end process of bookings, responding to enquiries in a timely manner and adding information to our booking system.

Working under the guidance of the Bookings and Membership Coordinator, you will also contribute to the processes required to collect payments and ensure continued access to our facility members.

During certain times of the year, your skills and expertise will be used to assist the sports clubs team in general administrative tasks such as booking transport and adding student information to central competitions systems.

Applicants should have a proven track record and relevant experience of communicating effectively both verbally and in writing with exceptional organisational skills.

Your hours of work should align with general office hours although there may be an occasional need to work evenings and weekends. The Sports Service will consider requests for working from home for this role. However, the role holder will need to be in the Sports Centre at least one day per week and attend in person meetings and training activities.
