Sport and Fitness Assistant

University of Cambridge Sport is seeking to appoint a Sports and Fitness Assistant to support facility supervisors in the efficient and effective management of day to day operations and services provided across the sports facilities.

The role holder will work primarily in the fitness facilities at the University of Cambridge Sports Centre, interacting with all members and providing fitness related services. In addition, the role holder will ensure that all areas of the centre are set up and ready for activities, as determined by the booking schedule. The role holder will also act as Duty Supervisor when required.

Applicants must hold a current Level 2 Gym Instructor Qualification, a First Aid at Work qualification (or the ability to achieve the award), have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience of working in sports and fitness environments. Receptionist (Part Time)

The University of Cambridge Sports Service is seeking to appoint one part-time receptionist to work Saturdays 7.45am-1.45pm at the University Sports Centre, West Cambridge, and additional shifts if required.

The role holder will be part of a team of Reception staff who provide an efficient and welcoming reception for visitors. They will answer queries, monitor access to the sports and fitness facilities and deal with incoming phone calls, mail, and e-mails.

The role holder will receive and process memberships for the Sports Centre and the Fitness, Strength and Conditioning Centre. They will also take court, class and course bookings and ensure the Booking Management System is updated, and appropriate fees collected. The role holder will also respond to enquiries relating to other Sports Service facilities and services available at other sites.

Applicants should have a good general education to GCSE level, including English. Completion of a customer care course, NVQ or equivalent, would be an advantage. They should have good organisation and communication skills, a helpful and positive attitude and the ability to deal tactfully and professionally with all enquiries. Applicants should have some general office or reception experience.
